Hey peeps and welcome to a written playthrough of Injustice 2, specifically the Battle Simulator. It’s the super cheap way to talk about the things I like. At the very least, yelling into the void that is known as the internet and being clearly ignored.

This is going to focus on Enchantress’s battle simulator. It’s played on very easy difficulty with the character being a level 3.

Fight 1: Wonder Woman

It’s Brother Eye in the Bat Cave.

Right off the bat, I knew this was going to be a rough simulator. Enchantress is a magic fighter, which I’m really not good with. It’s not Supergirl level bad, but it’s still pretty bad. I had no clue how to fight with her. She doesn’t even do basic punches and kicks. Or at least, some of the inputs aren’t punches and kicks. I’m just not strategic enough to play with this kind of character. I appreciate the difference but I’m just not good with this kind of character.

Since it took me a while to even get a basic attack, Wonder Woman got a lot of hits on me. Like, I thought she was going to take out one of the health bars. This was the first fight. It did not boost my confidence for the rest of the fights.

Fight 2: Supergirl

This started in Memorial Station and eventually transitioned to Ace o’ Clubs in Metropolis.

My abilities started to improve with this character. She landed some more complex hits. Granted, she still got a lot of hits against her. Enchantress is a fragile character so she doesn’t take hits well. I couldn’t control the attacks well. I don’t get what the little rift attack does, but I kept making it happen.

I used a super move and ended the match.

Fight 3: Joker

This started in the Prop Room, transitioned the Empire Theater front, and then went back to the Prop Room.

Here’s where I really believed that I cannot fight with magic fighters. Since most of her attacks revolve around magic rather than physicality, it makes it harder to attack the opponent. Even the basic light, medium, and heavy attacks aren’t a guarantee to be an actual hit against the opponent. She may just make some hand motions in front of them instead. Again, it’s a completely valid fighting style. I just don’t know how to get a handle on this type of style.

I used a super move and ended the match. Enchantress moved up to level 4.

Fight 4: Robin

This took place in Gorilla City.

It was this fight that I realized the only reliable attacks I could use involved the triangle button. Basically, I just spam the attack where she takes the spectre out of the opponent and breaks it. I can’t always get it to hit, but when it does, it actually does decent damage. I also learned that if she goes airborne, she pulls out a sword to attack. It wasn’t bad.

I started to use her character power here. She summons a demon and it punches the opponent once. It’s very basic but it does damage for her. Since she is a weaker fighter, I do think her power is an enhancement. It charges quickly, which is also a plus.

I used a super move and finished the fight.

Fight 5: Black Manta

This level was Slaughter Swamp.

This fight had a challenge attached to use 9 special moves in the match. I did not complete this challenge. Unfortunately, the moves needed to connect to the opponent. My use of triangle attacks were less than useful this time. Instead, I kept summoning the arm out of the portal. This would be fine if that arm wasn’t always behind my opponent. It very rarely hit the opponent. I’m guessing it’s a weird range attack that I just couldn’t master.

I used a super move and finished the fight.

Fight 6: Atom

The fight started in the Power Core and moved to the Central Containment areas of Red Sun Prison.

Enchantress’s character introductions are a little lazy. June has very few phrases to say before Enchantress takes over. Already six fights in and June was already using intros she had used previously. I feel they should have either dropped the June/Enchantress take-over in the beginning or at least attempted to write different intros for June like they do for every other character. Despite what June says, Enchantress does say different things based on who she’s about to fight. This isn’t the only character that changes during the intro so why does this one seem so tacked on? Is it because she’s only a DLC character?

Here’s where I realized that I’m a decent fighter with Enchantress...for one health bar. I can do enough damage to not get hit myself for one of my opponent’s health bars. After that, it’s fair game against me. In this case, he hit me with his super move. Atom is hard to fight against with his tiny ability. I’m never really sure how to block his moves because his little blue dot moves a little too fast.

I did hit him with my super move and ended the fight.

Fight 7: Green Arrow

This took place in the Fortress of Solitude.

This had a challenge attached to use 6 light attacks. I completed it but here’s where her lack of physical moves is a disadvantage. Most of her light attacks were weird magic spells, at least for me. I couldn’t get her to actually land a hit for a good portion of the fight.

As for Green Arrow, he was in his weird pumpkin shader again. I still don’t understand why that’s a color combination the game developers chose for this character. Why in the world would you pair bright green and bright orange for this character? It looks ridiculous.

I used a super move and finished the fight. Enchantress leveled up to level 5.

Fight 8: Brainiac

I beat him first try. Like Supergirl, she’s another character I knew I would have issues with against Brainiac. Since I don’t know any of her damaging moves, it makes it slightly difficult to fight against Brainiac without real strategy. Somehow, I actually had a strategy to fight him here. It was a simple crouch, punch, punch, crouch. I knew better than to let her stay standing for too long against him because he would severely damage her otherwise.

The Ending

I did grasp that June and Enchantress were two completely separate beings. I have no clue about Enchantress as a villain. I don’t know who she fights against. I don’t know exactly what she does. It just seems that she’s an ancient power who is really obsessed with June being her vessel. I know that this character has transitioned to a live-action medium but I never watched Suicide Squad and it doesn’t seem that anything is really explained there either. When Enchantress repossessed June at the end, I do like the nod to the comics that there are 52 worlds they need to take over.

Overall Score: 1,026,931

So, super moves make a difference. The characters I’m better with score worse because I defeat opponents before the meter fully fills. She misses out on the top five by less than 1,000 points but I would maintain that she shouldn’t be there anyway.

Top Five Ranking of Characters:

  1. Catwoman (1,063,054)
  2. Green Arrow (1,057,829)
  3. Doctor Fate (1,040,263)
  4. Cyborg (1,030,601)
  5. Swamp Thing (1,027,787)

Until the next battle, where I have no clue what will await me.
