Hey peeps and welcome to a written playthrough of Injustice 2, specifically the Battle Simulator. It’s the super cheap way to talk about the things I like. At the very least, yelling into the void that is known as the internet and being clearly ignored.
It’s time for Black Manta’s battle simulator. This was played on very easy difficulty. Black Manta started at a level 3.
Fight 1: Joker
It’s Brother Eye in the Bat Cave. There was a level transition down to the Armory stage. I get that every single simulator has to start in the Brother Eye stage, but I think it could at least start it on the other level as well. It’s still the Bat Cave.Straight off, a challenge was placed on the fight to use 7 special moves. I did not complete this challenge. I was really close but I was still trying to remember Black Manta’s move set. I will say, even though I didn’t complete the challenge, I picked up his moves rather easily. Joker did not stand a chance.
Because of this, the meter did not fill up. Therefore no super move to win the fight.
Fight 2: Supergirl
The stage was Gorilla City.
After playing battle simulator with Supergirl, I was more than happy to beat her up. Not in a bad way. It was just taking the frustration of playing as her out on her, all while playing my favorite character so far. I love Supergirl. I just don’t love playing as her.
For the fight, I maintained perfect health until I knocked her down to one bar. She attempted a super move, which I blocked. After a few small hits, I used my super move and finished the fight.
Black Manta went to level 4.
This match-up made sense. It would’ve made a little more sense if we were fighting on the Atlantis stages. I know very little about Black Manta as a character except that he’s Aquaman’s villain and Aquaman killed his father. I know absolutely nothing else but I still felt it to be correct that they would fight each other.
Aquaman still does his stupid octopus arm move, which doesn’t make sense. I’m going with it being video games and comics logic coming together. I only fixate on it because it keeps annoyingly hitting me.
When I went to hit the super move, I saw Aquaman go into a block stance. That made me mad because I like hitting that move for points. Then the cut scene commenced and I was happy that even the AI can mess up hitting the block.
Basically, I won the fight.
The fight wasn’t anything special. We hit each other. I used a super move. I won.
I did notice that Starfire has a lot of little screams whenever she’s hit. They’re a little distracting during the battle. Not so much that it threw me off but that most other characters don’t make those kinds of noises when hit. It’s a little unsettling, particularly because of her less than clothed form. That’s unfortunately an issue with the comics and video games industries that I can’t even begin to solve in this simulator.
Once again, the fight wasn’t anything major. I will say, I really understand how to fight with this character. His combos feel fluid and easy to use. The problem is that I can’t build up the meter because of how well I fight. That’s what happened here and no super move got used to finish the fight.
Poison Ivy was a bitch to fight. I can play with this character. I know how to do his moves. Yet, she got the first hit. This seems to be a pattern with her. Her plants are powerful. I don’t know how to harness her plant powers but the AI sure does. She hit me with a super move. She knocked me down to one bar of health. That never happens in any fight other than Brainiac’s. And I’ll spoiler alert for the Brainiac fight: he didn’t knock me down to one bar of health. Girl is a tough fighter.
She also had a challenge attached to not duck during the fight. I failed that one because ducking is a little essential to the game and I can’t fight without it.
I did, eventually, hit her with a super move and ended the fight.
Black Manta went to level 5.
After the Poison Ivy fight, this fight was relatively easy. Grodd took some hits. He hit me a few times. He annoyingly blocked my super move at the end though. Still won the fight, but lost those points.
Overall Score: 990,980
He doesn’t even make the top 5! I play so well with him. I absolutely love playing with him. But it just isn’t enough. As I will always state, ending with super moves really makes a difference.
Top Five Ranking of Characters:
Until the next battle, where all the confidence I built up with Black Manta will tank quickly.
Black Manta went to level 4.
Fight 3: Aquaman
This started in Memorial Station in Metropolis and eventually transitioned over to the Ace o’ Clubs.

Fight 4: Starfire
This level was the Fortress of Solitude.
Fight 5: Doctor Fate
The fight started in the Power Core section of Red Sun Prison and eventually moved over the the Containment Center.Once again, the fight wasn’t anything major. I will say, I really understand how to fight with this character. His combos feel fluid and easy to use. The problem is that I can’t build up the meter because of how well I fight. That’s what happened here and no super move got used to finish the fight.
Fight 6: Poison Ivy
This fight started in the Command Center in Atlantis but eventually went to the Trench Queen Nursery. Because it really makes sense to fight Poison Ivy here.Poison Ivy was a bitch to fight. I did, eventually, hit her with a super move and ended the fight.
Black Manta went to level 5.
Fight 7: Gorilla Grodd
This took place in the Joker’s Playground. After the Poison Ivy fight, this fight was relatively easy. Grodd took some hits. He hit me a few times. He annoyingly blocked my super move at the end though. Still won the fight, but lost those points.
Fight 8: Brainiac
He was so easy with a character I can play. I went an almost perfect match throughout his first health bar. That literally never happens. His only hit on me? His super move. That was only because he caught me mid-attack. Other than that, he was on the easier side of the battle simulator matches. It’s one of the very, very, very few times I’ll say that. The Ending
As I stated above, I know nothing about Black Manta. I do know that Aquaman killed his father. That was made very abundantly clear. I mean, I really have nothing to say about this ending because it didn’t mean much to me. He’s a DLC character so he has no bearing on the main story. The only thing it made me remember was that Aquaman was on Superman’s side by the end of the game. I’m guessing if a character other than clearly defined Regime/Insurgency characters defeat Brainiac, the resulting Superman vs. Batman clash doesn’t happen. Either that or Black Manta’s story takes place in the universe where Superman wins that clash.Overall Score: 990,980
He doesn’t even make the top 5! I play so well with him. I absolutely love playing with him. But it just isn’t enough. As I will always state, ending with super moves really makes a difference.
