Hey peeps and welcome to a written playthrough of Injustice 2, specifically the Battle Simulator. It’s the new trend in gaming. We’ve evolved from written to video back to written again. That’s what I’m telling myself at least.

This review is about The Flash’s battle simulator. It’s on the very easy difficulty, because below, I’ll prove my point on why it needs to be that simple for me. He was level 5 at the start.

Going into this simulator, I was really confident. I remembered being really good at playing with The Flash. In the story mode, he was the first character I could easily get a handle on. I knew his combos pretty well. Let’s just say, the confidence went down. Quickly.

Fight 1: Robin

Yeah, we know where this takes place. Six in and I’m already bored on the Bat Cave. At least on this level, I can attempt to get a level transition. I didn’t in this fight, but I can at least try.

It took me a few moments to get back to how to use Flash as a character. The recurring issue was that I kept using the Speed Dodge move. I don’t usually look up what each move is for a character, but this move was such an issue throughout the simulator that I had to look up what this stupid move was. Because I kept doing the move, it meant that Robin could get some hits on me while in recovery mode of using the combo.

I did manage to use the super move and ended the match. He leveled up to level 6.

Fight 2: Cheetah

This took place in Black Adam’s Palace in Kahndaq. I didn’t get level transition on this level, but it wasn’t without trying.

I was so close to a perfect match. So close. And then she hit her super move right when I moved out of block stance. I literally pressed a button a second before she activated it. Of course, it also read that push and I got hit. It was the only hit she got on me, but it burned so bad. So I hit her with my super move. Who’s the winner of the match now?
Me. I used it to end the match.

Fight 3: Superman

This was in the Cell Block of Arkham Asylum. I did get level transition on this one, somehow.

This fight had a challenge attached to not duck in the match. I failed that challenge about ten seconds in. There’s no way I’m playing the match without blocking. It’s easier when I get the no jumping in a match because that’s not usually a part of my play style. Ducking is way more essential for me. I wasn’t really bummed to fail the challenge.

I used the super move and finished the fight.

Fight 4: Darkseid

The fight took place in Gorilla City.

I learned just how annoying environmental interactions are in this match. Every single hit from Darkseid came from him hitting me into the animal sculptures in the background. Not that I wasn’t also trying it on him, but it felt like he did it more.

I didn’t get to use my super move in this fight. I forgot that Flash needs his opponent standing to be able to hit them with the move. I’m used to most of the super moves still hitting while my opponent is still on the ground. On the upside, I did also block Darkseid’s super move so no one got a super special beatdown this match.

Fight 5: Black Manta

The fight took place in the Central Containment in Red Sun Prison. I did get the level transition over the the Power Core stage.
There was a challenge attached to the fight to use two throws in the match. I did complete this challenge, though throws are more difficult for me to use in a match. They don’t flow easily in the game play, for me. Because of this, Black Manta got one single hit while I was trying to grab him. He literally only got one hit through the entire match.

If we reference the paragraph up at the top, it was at this point I felt I was getting somewhere with fighting with Flash. I was remembering how to use him. I was doing really well. I didn’t get the super move this match but that was okay. He went up to level 7. Then the next matches happened.

Fight 6: Supergirl

The fight took place in the Joker’s Playground.

Here’s where the Speed Dodge started to really hinder my ability to play with Flash. I kept hitting the move when I was attempting other move combos. Therefore, she kept hitting me. Hard. I was also impressed because I will never play Supergirl that great. Like, she was using useful moves. She was getting hits. I can’t do that with her. We’ll get to that on her battle simulator. I was fearful that she was going to knock me down to one bar of health.

There was a clash in here that I purposefully lost if only to preserve my meter. I then used that meter to do the super move and ended the match.

Fight 7: Bane

This took place in the Fortress of Solitude.

I’m going to say, there was nothing special in this fight. I used the stupid Speed Dodge a few times. He hit me a few times. I used the super move and won the match. It was very uneventful and I feel a little bad for saying that.

Fight 8: Brainiac

God damn it.

Since Bane was so uneventful, Brainiac had to amp it up ten fold. I lost the first match against him. I don’t remember the last time I lost a battle in any battle simulator. He knocked me down to one health bar before I knocked him down to only one health bar. His stupid tentacle moves are the absolute worst. They hit so hard and blocking any of his cheese moves doesn’t work unless it’s the straight forward laser or the little ball in the air that shoots a small laser at you.

Anyway, this first horrible fight ended in me losing. Mostly, because the only combo move Flash would do was the stupid Speed Dodge move. That’s the worst move to do against this idiot. I was so angry that I had to replay the match.

I completely redeemed myself in the second match. He only hit me down to half a bar in this match but I couldn’t even be happy about it.

The Ending

So, I’m guessing Flash’s ending is setting up one of the other major events in DC comics. The only major event that I can think of that involves the Flash is the Flashpoint event. Again, I don’t really know DC comics and their special crossover events that well. I’m thinking it would be more significant to see if I knew a bit more about the characters. I felt like his ending was just okay. Most of it took place within the speed force, which felt cheap.

Overall Score: 946,481

He doesn’t even make the top five. When I started this, I was certain that he was going to at least make the list. I have to re-evaluate all of my thoughts about how I play with these characters. Apparently, I don’t even know who I’m good at anymore.

Top Five Ranking of Characters:
  1. Catwoman (1,063,054)
  2. Cyborg (1,030,601)
  3. Swamp Thing (1,027,787)
  4. Sub-Zero (991,455)
  5. Hellboy (962,000)
Until the next battle, where my confidence will need to be highly rebuilt again.
