Captain Cold Injustice 2 Battle Simulator

Media type: Video Game
Title: Injustice 2 (Legendary Edition)
Released: May 11, 2017
Format: PS4
Played before?: Yes

Hey peeps and welcome to a written playthrough of Injustice 2, specifically the Battle Simulator. I’m saving you the misery of watching me actually play this game because it would be cringe-worthy how bad I am.

Captain Cold is the focus of this advanced battle simulator, played on very easy difficulty. He started out at level 3.

Fight 1: Supergirl

Brother Eye in the Bat Cave. Just like the last twenty times I played this battle simulator.

I could tell right away that Captain Cold’s gun was going to be an issue for me to fight with. Any attack I used from the gun was pretty much useless. I did more damage with his fists and environmental interactions than I did with any of his ice attacks.

I was able to block her super move, so it was at least one positive. I used my super move and ended the fight.

Fight 2: Gorilla Grodd

The fight took place at the Joker’s Playground.

There was a challenge attached to this fight to use 7 sweep attacks. Since I have no clue what a sweep attack is or how to do one, I did not complete this challenge. I should really learn to do some of these more special attacks so that I don’t seem like a complete idiot every time I write one of these simulators.

I was a little better with his ice attacks in this fight. I was not good by any means, but I actually used ice attacks against Grodd which is a positive. Quickly, I learned that when he makes the blue circle, it damages the opponent as long as the opponent is touching the circle. The problem is that I couldn’t conjure the circle in most of the fights.

I used a super move to end the fight. Captain Cold leveled up to level 4.

Fight 3: Raiden

This fight took place at the Power Core in Red Sun Prison.

I still hate lightning users. Surprisingly, he wasn’t horrible with his attacks but still relatively annoying with his repeated use of his throw. My main issue was with one of Captain Cold’s attacks. No matter which character I’m using, there’s always one attack that I will repeatedly spam that does nothing in the fight. Captain Cold’s happened to be his icicle attack. Throughout all of the fights, I don’t think one opponent got hit with the attack. I sure did create a lot of icicles that would randomly drop. It would help if I knew where they formed because sometimes, it didn’t even seem to drop from where I shot the ice.

I used a super move to end the fight.

Fight 4: Superman

The fight took place at Memorial Station in Metropolis.

Remember where I just finished saying that Captain Cold’s icicle opponent never hit any of my opponents? Somehow, one of my icicles hit me. Thankfully, I can’t damage myself but that would definitely rank up there on stupid ways I damaged myself in a video game. Other than that, the fight wasn’t horrible. I just couldn’t believe I would be that stupid to get hit by my own attack. Actually I can, but at least let it be an attack I can see coming.

A super move ended the fight.

Fight 5: Green Arrow

This fight took place in front of the Empire Theatre in Gotham.

It’s been a really long time since I’ve played the main story. What the hell is happening in Gotham that such a huge military presence is required? Besides the normal things go on in Gotham. This time I noticed the police shields running toward the main entrance of the theatre. I would chalk it up to a normal day in Gotham but since the entire universe seems to have issues, it might be a special reason.

Oliver managed to hit me with his super move. I did try to avoid it but that would’ve required jumping and I’m not great at that. I hit him right back with my super move and ended the fight.

Fight 6: Atom

The fight started in the Rock of Eternity before moving to Black Adam’s Palace in Kahndaq.

Atom’s still an annoying fight with his growing and shrinking abilities. I will say that he didn’t use his shrinking attacks as much. Whenever he went small, he just sat there. I’m not going to complain because I haven’t figured out a way to block those attacks. I haven’t figured out how to block his super move either. I tried to jump but he still hit me.

I used my super move and ended the fight. Captain Cold leveled up to level 5.

Fight 7: Swamp Thing

This fight took place in the Fortress of Solitude.

There was a challenge attached to use 6 jump attacks. I did not complete this challenge. I’m not good with being in the air. I don’t know how much it would’ve helped, but I don’t think I even managed one jump attack.

Swamp Thing straight up pummeled me. It’s been a while since I’ve seen him so I forgot how much damage his attacks do. Apparently, a lot. He even got first hit but that was mostly because I was acting stupid and tried to hit him with an interaction first. After that, the hits just kept coming. It was brutal.

I did manage to use a super move and ended the fight.

Fight 8: Brainiac

I had been dreading this fight from the beginning. As soon as I realized that I had no clue how to use his ice gun, I knew fighting Brainiac was going to be tough. And it was. It was touch-and-go at the end. I was left with a half bar of health which can be easily taken out with a tentacle arm. I was smart enough to block his super move except that you still take some damage when the tentacle hits in the block position. Yes, it makes sense but I don’t have to be happy about it. Unfortunately, Brainiac did manage to block my super move as well so the fight had to finish normally.

The Ending

I don’t know anything about Captain Cold except that he’s one of Flash’s villains. I liked this ending and it made me like the character. Since I don’t know the character, I don’t know who his sister is either but his dedication to her was touching. He seems to be a villain that causes mayhem, but not one on the level of a Batman villain. He’s trying to atone for helping cause the destruction that Brainiac and Grodd wrought on Earth. No, it doesn’t mean he should be forgiven but it’s a start. He learned that Barry isn’t a horrible person and that they are compatible when working toward the same goal. I also appreciate that he cursed because mainstream heroes and villains really don’t do that enough. And I’m not being sarcastic.

Overall Score: 932,990

That’s not a great score. There are characters who’ve lost fights that have gotten a better score. When I’m not hitting the level transitions, it really messes with the score. Also, when I’m not really good with the character anyway.

Top Five Ranking of Characters:

  1. Catwoman (1,063,054)
  2. Green Arrow (1,057,829)
  3. Black Canary (1,047,908)
  4. Doctor Fate (1,040,263)
  5. Cyborg (1,030,601)

Until the next battle, where I can continue to see how awful I am at this game.
