Hey peeps and welcome to a written playthrough of Injustice 2, specifically the Battle Simulator. I’m learning a lot about myself and my writing style doing this. Whether that’s something people care about is debatable, but learning experiences are always good.
This is Robin’s advanced battle simulator played on very easy. He starts out at a level 3.
I know of the lore of the various Robins. As I repeatedly state, I’m not super knowledgeable about DC Comics. Therefore, some of the bigger details are lost on me. My biggest question is, where is Tim Drake in this universe? It’s established in the first game that Damian killed Dick and took over the Nightwing mantle. Jason is Red Hood as established with the DLC in this game. Damian is supposed to be the fourth Robin. So, where is Tim? The shaders for Robin hint that Tim does exist but he’s never mentioned in the universe. Really, this means nothing because this is Damian and I shouldn’t focus so much on a different character but it was bothering me.
Fight 1: Captain Cold
I did it! I managed to get the level transition here so I got to see the Armory in the Bat Cave, as well as starting at the Brother Eye stage. I was proud of myself. There was a challenge attached to use 4 special moves. I only managed 3, which was impressive considering I had no clue what Robin’s moves were. It was not the best challenge to start off with for me.
I find that Robin fights incredibly well. His moves are fluid. He does a lot of damage, thanks to the sword. When I fight against him, he’s usually a tough fighter so it was nice to harness that power for myself.
There was no super move to end the fight.
Fight 2: Black Adam
This fight took place in the Fortress of Solitude. The fight had a challenge attached to use 6 medium attacks. I did manage to complete this challenge.
The fight wasn’t eventful. I quickly picked up how to fight with Robin. I’m pretty sure I went for one of Black Adam’s health bars without getting hit. That was actually a pretty common theme throughout this simulator. I could knock my opponent down to one health bar before they started to fight back. I was pretty impressed with myself.
No super move ended the fight. Robin leveled up to level 4.
Fight 3: Batman
The fight took place in the Cell Block of Arkham Asylum.Once again, another easy fight. I like that the introduction kept with the theme of Damian and Bruce not valuing the other. From my understanding, that’s exactly how their relationship is whether it’s the Injustice universe or not. I always like when the simulator pits characters who know each other against each other. I know that the simulator is supposed to be a multiverse of different characters, but it makes it a little more personal when there’s a history.
I did manage to use a super move to end the fight.
Fight 4: Blue Beetle
This fight took place in front of the Empire Theatre in Gotham. It was during this fight that I began to think I might actually be good at playing with Robin. I never found a move I couldn’t use. He generated a lot of damage. His style flowed well for me. That made me start to think that Robin wasn’t getting a great score in the end of the simulator. When I’m too good at playing a character, they tend to get a lower score than those I have issues with.
I used a super move to end the fight.
Fight 5: Gorilla Grodd
The fight took place at Slaughter Swamp.Somehow, I accidentally did a meter burn during this fight. I don’t even know what move I did. From what I could tell, it was most likely an air escape but I have no clue what that actually looks like. I don’t even know how I did a meter burn. That’s really bad that I’ve played this game quite a bit and I don’t even know what the meter burns look like for any character.
I state all of this because it means I wasn’t able to use a super move to end the fight. Robin leveled up to level 5.
Fight 6: Deadshot
This fight took place in Joker’s Playground. This was the first actual fight I had during this simulator. It’s been quite a while since I’ve had to fight Deadshot so I didn’t really remember what his moves were. He shot me a lot. Like, exclusively. It was not great but I did welcome having a tough time fighting. It’s not always fun to go through the simulator if the fights are always easy.
A super move ended the fight.
Fight 7: Green Lantern
The fight started at Memorial Station before moving to the Ace o’ Clubs in Metropolis. This was another tough fight. Hal was using his lantern a lot, which kept hitting me back. He got a fair amount of hits on me for what seemed like weak attacks on his part.
There was a super move to end the fight.
Fight 8: Brainiac
This fight was way easier than I was thinking. Since the last two fights had amped up the difficulty, I was expecting Brainiac to put up a fight. I managed to go for one of his health bars without getting hit. I don’t think I’ve ever done that. He did manage to hit me with his super move because I wasn’t paying attention. It’s always strange when Brainiac isn’t the hardest fight in the simulator. The Ending
It was touching to see Damian take up the mantle of Batman in the wake of Bruce’s death. It’s sad that Damian could only appreciate who Bruce was until he was dead. It also semi-seemed like they were trying for a Dick-like trajectory with Damian. First, he’s Robin. Then he’s Nightwing. Then he takes over the Batman mantle. Granted, Damien’s path involved a lot more killing than Dick’s did. I do have to say that Damian’s Batman outfit did look really cool. It was a nice touch between the classic Batman and something that was a little more League-inspired.Overall Score: 951,836
It’s not a great score. I wasn’t able to do a lot of super moves in this simulator. I’m having trouble even breaking a million with characters anymore.
