Wonder Woman Injustice 2 Battle Simulator

Media type: Video Game
Title: Injustice 2 (Legendary Edition)
Released: May 11, 2017
Format: PS4
Played before?: Yes

Hey peeps and welcome to a written playthrough of Injustice 2, specifically the Battle Simulator. Granted, it’d be better if you could see how badly I play this game. Then the mocking could take on a whole new level.

This is Wonder Woman’s advanced battle simulator. It was set on very easy difficulty and she started out at level 5.

Surprisingly, I really don’t know much about Wonder Woman. I’ve not actually seen the live-action Wonder Woman movie, even though I own it. All I know is that I’m not a huge fan of Wonder Woman as portrayed in the Injustice games. I do honestly like Diana as a character, despite the little I know about her. As with most other characters, I would actually like to learn about her character outside of this universe.

Fight 1: Bane

Yay, we’re in...no wait, still the Brother Eye level at the Bat Cave.

Wonder Woman’s attacks aren’t bad. The only issue I consistently had was when she bangs her bracelets together. I’m sure it’s one of those attacks that is an actual attack. I just don’t know what that attack is or how it’s activated. Luckily, during this battle, it wasn’t a major issue. It helped that Bane wasn’t a tough fight in the first place.

I used her super move and ended the fight.

Fight 2: Atrocitus

The fight started in Black Adam’s Palace before moving to the Rock of Eternity in Kahndaq.

The fight had a challenge attached to use five throws. I did not complete the challenge because I only know one throw move and it’s not really conducive to fighting. I did manage to use that one throw move but that was it.

The first half of the fight was great. Atrocitus barely got a hit on me until we transitioned to the Rock of Eternity. It was there that he had fun kicking me into the rock face followed quickly by the red tornado move. Not the worst move set to get stuck in, but it definitely ruined the groove I pretend to have while fighting.

I used a super move and ended the fight.

Fight 3: Darkseid

This fight took place at the Joker’s Playground.

There was a challenge attached to complete the match in under 70 seconds. I completed the match in 47 seconds. Go me! Wow, that’s a low bar I’m setting for myself.

Darkseid did not put up a fight whatsoever. He barely hit me throughout the fight, which is why I could complete the fight so quickly. He even tried his laser attacks but he missed with every single one of them.

I wasn’t able to use a super move in the end and ended the match normally.

Fight 4: Aquaman

The fight started in the Empire Theatre Prop Room and moved to the Empire Theatre Front in Gotham.

He ended up hitting me with his super move because I wasn’t able to crouch down into block position fast enough. As usual, between that and his trident moves, he was a much more difficult fight. I began to experiment with Wonder Woman’s character power during the fight. I did understand that whatever area on Wonder Woman was glowing meant that her attacks using that specific area would be stronger. Except, I usually got her legs. Of course, that would be when she used everything but her legs while attacking. I gave up trying to use her character power quickly because it wasn’t beneficial to me.

I used a super move to end the match. Wonder Woman moved up to level 6.

Fight 5: Raiden

This fight started in the Power Core before moving to the Containment Center in Red Sun Prison.

Raiden wasn’t a hard fight in the beginning. That’s surprising since I always have issues with lightning users. Of course, I did toward the end of the fight but it wasn’t enough to cause any major issues. I don’t think Wonder Woman is a hard character to fight with. I just might not be proficient enough to use her to her full potential.

I wasn’t able to use a super move to end the fight.

Fight 6: Firestorm

This fight took place in the Command Center of Atlantis. Is it bad that I don’t even remember why the Atlantis level is in the game? Since Aquaman is involved in the story, I’m guessing the Insurgency had to go find him for help, but I don’t even remember fighting there. It’s been a long time since I’ve played the game proper.

I swear Firestorm was doing all sorts of moves I’ve never seen before during this fight. Granted, I’m very much a self-proclaimed idiot when it comes to using basic controls with games so they probably weren’t any type of special moves. He just was using a lot of fire-related moves that I didn’t remember having in my arsenal.

I used a super move to end the fight.

Fight 7: Blue Beetle

The fight took place at Memorial Station in Metropolis.

It was a tough fight. Blue Beetle thrashed me pretty hard throughout the match and it was a little shocking to me. I mean, I don’t really remember how Blue Beetle plays. It’s been a long time since I’ve used that character so his move set isn’t as fresh in my mind as some of the others. What am I saying? I could be playing him and still have no clue what his move set is.

One thing I noticed is that I almost kept forgetting to use my super move to end the matches. I only saw the actual animation for Wonder Woman’s super move twice because I kept activating at the last minute. I don’t know why I kept forgetting because it’s usually second nature. I guess I couldn’t grasp the range of her move and how close she needed to be for it to hit.

I did use a super move to end the match.

Fight 8: Brainiac

Well, Wonder Woman gets to join an exclusive club: the loser’s club. Somehow I lost the first match against him. It’s weird because I didn’t think I was playing particularly bad with her. Not compared to Supergirl and the Flash. Yet, Brainiac somehow remembered all of his tentacle moves in a row. Unfortunately, those take out a good chunk of health and they cannot be blocked. Thankfully, the second fight went much better but I was not a happy camper at the fact I lost.

The Ending

I hate to say it, but I really don’t enjoy Wonder Woman in these games. It makes me sad because I honestly think that Wonder Woman is a great character despite how little I know about her. I just don’t understand her motivation. Superman actually had a traumatic experience that changed his outlook on how villains are regarded. Wonder Woman...just wants to fuck Superman? And she changed her entire world view for it? Her romantic relationship is thankfully not touched upon in this ending but it just seems rather bizarre. She’s a character that’s bent on revenge against everyone, including the other Amazons. It feels like they just wanted to make a darker and edgier Wonder Woman but they missed giving her a motivation for the darkness. At least, one beyond wanting to fuck Superman. Maybe in the comics, there is an actual motivation but they’ve chosen not to place it in the game.

Overall Score: 976,540

She’s got a higher score than characters I didn’t lose any matches with. She might have gotten closer to a million if I didn’t screw the last match.

Top Five Ranking of Characters:

  1. Catwoman (1,063,054)
  2. Green Arrow (1,057,829)
  3. Black Canary (1,047,908)
  4. Doctor Fate (1,040,263)
  5. Cyborg (1,030,601)

Until the next battle, because it’s a never-ending cycle of pain and torment.
